I always have a great time with Scott on his show. He is gracious, interested and always a fantastic cheerleader. A songwriter himself, he listens for (and catches) nuances no one else asks about. I love that.
My mother-in-law, Roe, was with me for this interview. She's hanging out with us this week. She and my father-in-law, Sal, came up for 4th of July weekend, and Roe decided to stay the week so she could be at the CD release show. I'm a little nervous that she'll be bored since I have so many things to do this week. But as she would say, It is what it is! It was actually really nice to have her there with me. She is so proud. That lady knows how to make someone feel loved. And she took some pics and video, which was great!
So for the show with Scott, I wanted to play live then have Scott play the studio version of that same song. We did that twice. So fun. It was great to see Scott's face when he heard the studio version of In Your Love after the mellow acoustic version. I was afraid he wouldn't like it with its auto tune and club beat. (Scott is a folkie through and through as a performer, but his musical tastes are extremely varied.) But he really liked it. So affirming.
